Tryouts for the Minnetonka High School Volleyball Team (9th 10th JV & Varsity) will begin on August 11 2008.

All athletes should report to MHS West Gym.
7:30am Freshman Check-in
8:00am-3:00pm Freshman Tryouts (12-1pm Lunch Break)
8:30am 10th – 12th Grade Check-in
9:00am-3:00pm 10th – 12th Grade Tryouts (12-1pm Lunch Break)
Due to construction at the high school’s west entrance, you must enter the building on the East Side, Door #14E (the temporary “new main entrance”). Also, due to construction in the MHS east gym, some volleyball athletes will report to MME beginning on Aug. 12th. Please see the revised August Schedule (includes tryout schedule changes!) for more information.

Volleyball athletes should…
 Bring indoor volleyball shoes
 Wear outdoor running shoes
 Bring a WATER BOTTLE
 Eat a lite breakfast ~ we will be doing a lot of quick movements
Remember: athletes must be registered and have a sports physical (completed within the past 3 years) on file at the high school before they will be allowed to tryout.

This link will take you to the MHS Athletics web site where you can download registration forms. Payment may be submitted with your forms OR you may pay online (the MHS Activites page has a link to the online payment system)

All players planning to tryout for a team must register with the MHS Activities office! Registration forms can either be downloaded from the MHS website (link provided above) OR you may pick up a registration packet in the MHS Activity Office (limited summer hours due to construction). Students must turn in all necessary forms to the MHS Activity Office before they will be allowed to practice/tryout. Registrations turned in from June 2nd through August 4th will guarantee full processing before the start of the season. To ensure adequate processing time, we require that all registration forms and fees be turned in to the activities office by August 4th. Registrations that are turned in after August 4th can result in missing tryout/practice dates without make-ups.

Remember, you must have a current sports physical on file (must be less than 3 years old). Please check the date of your last sports physical and make sure you are up-to-date. Note to seniors: most seniors likely had their last sports physical before entering 9th grade … if your last physical was completed before 9th grade, you will need a new physical before tryouts!

Players are encouraged to take advantage of summer opportunities to work on volleyball skills during the summer.
